lyrics
I was passing through the bluebonnets,
With teenage rattlesnakes all around me
Everybody drunk on the sunshine,
With a desperate need to be nowhere at all
I felt a rusted band of gold
Like a tourniquet wrapped around my soul,
Caught in the spirit of the times
I was on my way to paradise,
But I’m staying right here, right here with you
I’m out to buy some wind from John Domingo,
He pulls it from the sky so high and strange
“The moon is in the man” he always told me,
So dust it off, that midnight jewelry
I felt a rusted band of gold
Like a tourniquet wrapped around my soul,
Caught in the spirit of the times
I was on my way to paradise,
But I’m going all in, all in for you

The Austin band’s fourth album feels like the bleeding edge of a breakthrough, a country-rock dream machine somewhere between a jolt and a drift. Bandcamp Album of the Day Nov 5, 2019
An outpouring of errant, psychedelic experiments from one of the UK's most underrated cosmonauts, texturally rich and sonically deep. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 17, 2019

Bummer Year has some of the most vivid imagery I've listened to in a song.
"They're the kind of people who are with you in a bar fight even if you caused it for talking too much shit" is the pure poetry of loyalty, and just one of many lines that made me play this track over and over until I had to buy the album.
The music itself feels like a sunny day even if its been a "Bummer Year" glacialconcepts
